Noah Learning to Walk

Posted by Amber , Thursday, January 24, 2008 Thursday, January 24, 2008

Noah is learning how to walk. It is so much fun. He is incredibly brave. He will get to the end of the table and just let go. He will make it a few steps before falling, but I can tell he is so close to walking. Ben and I work with him a lot like this, and he usually gets too excited and falls before he gets to his destination. I can't imagine what life is going to be like with a walking little man. He is going to be even quicker! YIKES!! Just kidding, I can't wait for it.

Ben and I also practice letting him walk by himself back and forth between us. He has gotten about 6 steps and kept his balance. I can't imagine him walking. It is so soon. I feel like he isn't a little baby anymore. He is growing so quickly into a little toddler.

Scrunch Face

I know it looks silly, but I have to tell you, Noah's scrunch face is the funniest thing ever. Ben and I love this so much. It originally started months ago when Noah got upset at something, he would scrunch his nose and open his mouth and inhale and exhale heavily through his nose. Well, we would just laugh super hard every time he did it, so now he does it for attention. It never gets old.

Noah got this sweet new toy from our friend Amy and he loves it. We call it his "Shake Shake" It is so funny. All we have to say is go find your "Shake Shake" and he knows exactly what we are talking about. We put him on the floor and he races to his toys and searches until finally, he got it. Then he sits there and bounces and shakes it like crazy. He is easily entertained for a long time with this thing.

Now even when I wash him, he splashes away. I end up soaking wet afterwards. Sometimes I can hardly see what I am doing because my face is so wet. Although it is adorable, I need to come up with a plan so I can stay dry during this process.

Last night my father in law, Shelby, invited me to attend the Avalanche vs. Coyotes hockey game with him at the Pepsi Center. It was the first NHL game I've ever been too and the seats were amazing. His company gets tickets right on the ice. Our seats were literally the row right on the warm side of the glass. There were a couple hits on our side that freaked me out a bit, those walls flex more than I thought they would. It was awesome. People around us were commenting on how they were being less violent than usual, but it was still pretty hard hitting. And before the game was over there was even a bona fide fight. Great times were had by all, except for maybe the Avalanche which lost by 3 in the last period with about 5 minutes left in the game.

He is so facinated with balls right now. We have a variety of them from a big blow up ball to small little balls that you put into a giraffe's head! It is the one word other than mama and dada that he says. He crawls around saying "baa". He is also learning how to make a 'c or k' sound. It sounds like he is saying "gock". He is also waving hi and bye to everyone. He is learning so much these days, it is getting hard to keep track.
