He looks adorable still, but I would say I am going to stick with 1 in. next time. He is really good with the buzzer. The hard part is getting him to sit still.

I was only 110 lbs when I got married! Well, after a year or so of marriage, something happened and my body began to change. I still felt ok, but I found myself stressing about my stomach bulging over my pants. I never changed what I was eating, but I started riding my bike and trying to get some physical activity in. Well... then I got pregnant, and I just let go. I figured I was pregnant, I am allowed to gain weight. Right? I thought it would be easy to lose. Well I gained 60 lbs!! That is more than double what the doctors want you to gain. After I had Noah, I lost 40 lbs right away. 20 still to go. Since that big weight loss, I have dropped an additional 5 lbs and it was hard. The fat just loves me! Or I love ice cream and soda too much. So here I am right now, with a one year postpartum body and 15 lbs still to take off. I have realized now that it won't be easy and I need to work hard to lose the weight. I got the workout clothes, the jogging stroller, and the iPod but haven't worked out yet! :) I guess I have a start, I am going on speed walks and trying to do an at home aerobics video to get my body into shape again. I am motivated to start jogging. I just needed to vent about my workout and weight gain issues. Geez, it's hard to juggle all this! I hope I didn't scare anyone off :) I hope everyone has a wonderful weekend!

Noah's 1 Year Check-up

Just precious!

Noah had his 12 month check-up this week. He is healthy! He weighs 21 lbs. and is 31 in. long. They predict him to be a tall/thin adult. The only sad news is that Noah has allergies. His nose has been running non-stop for over a week now and I thought it was a cold. The doctor can tell by his eyes that he is suffering from some allergy and when I mentioned his running nose she said that was it. I feel terrible. It is awful to feel congested, but he doesn't know how to sniff yet, so he is constantly having his nose wiped. It hurts him so bad now because it is so raw. We are trying a homeopathic allergy medicine along with giving him some honey once a day. We will see if it gets better. I am thankful we haven't noticed asthma so far. Other than that, she said he looks great and he has graduated from the baby phase. He got to pick out a toy from the toy chest this time! That's exciting!

Looking for twigs/leaves

He tries his best to walk through the grass, but it is still a bit difficult for him to do without falling. If you want to see more pictures of his adventure please see our flickr page at

Wow! Look at him

Wow! Look at him

But... after I cuddled him and made him feel better, he was right back over to the chair standing on it again! I couldn't believe how brave he was to go right back to it after it defeated him. He fell again and hit his head again! He went back a third time and I helped him off because I didn't want him hurting himself anymore. Then one last time he got up, fell off, and smacked his head really good and then he was done for the night. A couple days later... he was back up on the chair. I have just realized how determined he is to do certain things regardless of the consequences, and I have learned how much of a boy he really is. I don't think he goes more than two days without getting a bruise on his head or falling pretty good. He is so aggressive now. He isn't a baby! He is a toddler with non stop energy and a mind that is beginning to take him everywhere.

Noah Singing

I forgot I got Noah singing a song on video a while ago. Maybe a month or so. He just repeats the same words and bounces along to the song. I love it!

Noah singing and playing music

Noah was starting to understand the xylophone, but then got confused when we wanted him to play a song. He usually sings to me when I ask him to sing a song. I love that he enjoys dancing and singing. He is so cute when he sings and starts dancing along with the song. Soon he will be singing and dancing to his own music!

Family Vacation

We took a trip out to California to visit my Grandparents for a long weekend, and we had a fabulous time. Starting off... Noah did wonderful, as usual, on the plane to California. When we got there we had about an hour drive to where we were staying. (Desert Springs/Palm Springs) Once we got there, we relaxed and played some cards, ate some food and spent time together. The following day we went to play mini-golf and went to the pool. Noah had a ton of fun. He was upset when we had to get out of the water. That was exciting because I was worried he would be afraid of the water since he hasn't been in a big pool in a while. The next day I left Noah with my parents and grand parents so that Ben and I could go a look for places to live out in California. We drove up a couple hours to Victorville and the surrounding area, and then over to LA/Santa Monica to visit a friend. We spent most of the day hanging out in that area, looking at neighborhoods and going to the beach. It was so much fun to be out there again. It had been two years since our last visit. The following day we played games, went swimming and walked around downtown Palm Springs. (Where we are in the picture) It is such a fun little town. So many little shops and it is taken care of very well. The next day we packed up and headed back. It was way too short. We can't wait until we are there all the time. Hopefully soon!
