Our Birthday Boy

Noah will be one on April 2nd, but we celebrated his birthday this past Saturday. It was such a joy! I can't believe he has been in our lives for one year. It has gone so fast. I am overwhelmed with excitement, love and passion for this little man. He did so amazing! Not one fuss or overwhelmed cry the entire time. He entertained his guests very well. The party was a "Ball" theme. Noah is crazy about balls, so I got all kinds of blow up sports balls to throw around. Everyone ate and socialized, played outside on the beautiful day. We opened presents and Noah ate his first sweets of his life! His own piece of cake and ice cream. He went crazy over it. It was such a joy to celebrate his life! Praise the Lord for one year.

Snuggling up

Snuggling up

It is so cute when he does snuggle because he can be in mid-stride and BOOM down on the floor he goes sticking his bottom up in the air. He only needs a few moments before he is up again and on his way. I know he shouldn't have a sleep or security prop, but I love that blanket.

Worship Tunes

Posted by Amber , Thursday, March 27, 2008 Thursday, March 27, 2008

I wanted to share with everyone some of my favorite worship songs. If you haven't heard any of them, they are definitely worth listening to. I hope you are all blessed and uplifted by the Grace of our Lord!

Come Thou Fount of Every Blessing

Come, Thou Fount of every blessing,

Tune my heart to sing Thy grace;
Streams of mercy, never ceasing,
Call for songs of loudest praise.
Teach me some melodious sonnet,
Sung by flaming tongues above.
Praise the mount! I’m fixed upon it,
Mount of Thy redeeming love.

Here I raise my Ebenezer;
Here by Thy great help I’ve come;
And I hope, by Thy good pleasure,
Safely to arrive at home.
Jesus sought me when a stranger,
Wandering from the fold of God;
He, to rescue me from danger,
Interposed His precious blood.

O to grace how great a debtor
Daily I’m constrained to be!
Let Thy goodness, like a fetter,
Bind my wandering heart to Thee.
Prone to wander, Lord, I feel it,
Prone to leave the God I love;
Here’s my heart, O take and seal it,
Seal it for Thy courts above.

Marvelous Light

I once was fatherless,
a stranger with no hope;
Your kindness wakened me,
Awakened me, from my sleep

Your love it beckons deeply,
a call to come and die.
By grace now I will come
And take this life, take your life.

Sin has lost it's power,
death has lost it's sting.
From the grave you've risen
VICTORIOUSLY!

Into marvelous light I'm running,
Out of darkness, out of shame.
By the cross you are the truth,
You are the life, you are the way

My dead heart now is beating,
My deepest stains now clean.
Your breath fills up my lungs.
Now I'm free. now I'm free!

Lift my hands and spin around,
See the light that i have found.
Oh the marvelous light
Marvelous light

At the Food of the Cross

At the foot of the cross
Where grace and suffering meet
You have shown me Your love
Through the judgment You received
And You've won my heart
And You've won my heart
Now I can

Trade these ashes in for beauty
And wear forgiveness like a crown
Coming to kiss the feet of mercy
I lay every burden down
At the foot of the cross

At the foot of the cross
Where I am made complete
You have given me life
Through the death you bore for me
And You've won my heart
And You've won my heart
Now I can

And You've won my heart
And You've won my heart
Now I can

I lay every burden down
I lay every burden down
At the foot of the cross
At the foot of the cross
At the foot of the cross

How Great Thou Art

O Lord my God, When I in awesome wonder,
Consider all the worlds Thy Hands have made;
I see the stars, I hear the rolling thunder,
Thy power throughout the universe displayed.

Then sings my soul, My Saviour God, to Thee,
How great Thou art, How great Thou art.
Then sings my soul, My Saviour God, to Thee,
How great Thou art, How great Thou art!

When through the woods, and forest glades I wander,
And hear the birds sing sweetly in the trees.
When I look down, from lofty mountain grandeur
And see the brook, and feel the gentle breeze.

Then sings my soul, My Saviour God, to Thee,
How great Thou art, How great Thou art.
Then sings my soul, My Saviour God, to Thee,
How great Thou art, How great Thou art!

And when I think, that God, His Son not sparing;
Sent Him to die, I scarce can take it in;
That on the Cross, my burden gladly bearing,
He bled and died to take away my sin.

Then sings my soul, My Saviour God, to Thee,
How great Thou art, How great Thou art.
Then sings my soul, My Saviour God, to Thee,
How great Thou art, How great Thou art!

When Christ shall come, with shout of acclamation,
And take me home, what joy shall fill my heart.
Then I shall bow, in humble adoration,
And then proclaim: "My God, how great Thou art!"

Then sings my soul, My Saviour God, to Thee,
How great Thou art, How great Thou art.
Then sings my soul, My Saviour God, to Thee,
How great Thou art, How great Thou art!

Noah's Easter Basket

Noah's Easter Basket

This is technically Noah's second Easter, but last one he was a tiny baby just learning how to eat and stay awake. He got an Easter basket from Grandma and Grandpa Leonard and it was so fun to watch him enjoy it. He had to look for it and when he found it, he was in his own world. He got a stuffed bunny rabbit, and as you can see it was thrown to the side immediately because he also got a basketball and a hoop. We colored an egg for him which he also enjoyed later. What a fun time it was. I am so excited to see how his birthday party goes.

Dragging his jacket

He just makes his way around the house over and over again, with his tag along buddy. He is constantly doing and discovering new things. It is so fun to watch him learn and play.

Second, I am so excited for summer. I got some new overalls for Noah and they are too cute. He also has some new sandals. He is ready! We just need the beach and warmer weather.

We celebrated Ben's birthday on Saturday with some friends and family and it was so much fun. I thought it would be nice to make Noah look handsome (even more than usual) and dress him like Ben. What a pair! I posted a couple pictures of Ben's Birthday party on our flickr account. Check them out at flickr.com/photos/amber-rasmusen

Noah is normal for his weight, and every other size that is 12 months fits him pretty well. I guess they are trying to get the style down early right? Sagging shorts are pretty awesome! I am just kidding, I don't like sagging, nor do I like the fact his new shorts look more like pants. Hopefully he will grow into them before the summer is over. Regardless of my issues, he looked so cute with them hanging off his bottom. It made me laugh.

Day at the park

Posted by Amber , Tuesday, March 4, 2008 Tuesday, March 04, 2008

We had a beautiful March day here in Colorado! It was around 70 degrees outside, so we decided to take a trip to the park. After the kiddos got their sunscreen on we put on the hats. I didn't have one, but I was able to borrow one for Noah. It was semi-girly looking and didn't fit him very well. The kids were adorable. I love things like this. Someday these kids will be grown up and look back and say mom....what were you thinking?! Haha! Miss Eden is a 2.5 year old and Michael is almost 7 months old (4 months younger than Noah). It has been so exciting to have friends with kids and to watch them grow and play together.

Noah's fake laugh

Posted by Amber , Monday, March 3, 2008 Monday, March 03, 2008

Noah laughs to get attention now. It is so easy to tell when he is laughing because he is really getting a kick out of something or if he just wants you to look at him . It is pretty funny.

We had to take him to the doctor and we got him on antibiotics, which was what we wanted to stay away from if at all possible. Noah was such a good sport the entire time he was sick. We had to do breathing treatments with him that lasted 10 minutes each time, and at one point we were doing it 4-5 times a day. Every time we did one, Noah would just sit there patient and willing to keep the annoying mouthpiece in. So after all this....we are driving somewhere and I look back, and Noah is just sitting there with his hand in his mouth looking at me and smiling. He is so forgiving and so loving after all these awful things had to happen to him. He is my beautiful child and I love spending every waking moment with him.
